To grow good quality trees means strong and solid returns.
This programme advocates a more direct commitment to forestry from the trust that requires a direct investment in the beneficial owners and/or their descendants who are prepared to study a high-level Forest Management course. The objective is to build capability among whānau towards key employment areas in the forest industry.
Tertiary Education Grants
Eligibility
- An owner or descendant of an owner in the Lake Taupō Forest Trust (shareholder number to be obtained by calling the office on 07 3868839 ext. 119)
- Full-time student at an NZQA accredited University, College of Education, Polytechnic or Whare Wananga (does not include Secondary School)
- Studying in one of the following fields: Forestry, Finance, Business Management, Law Science, Engineering, Environmental, Information Technology, GIS Mapping, Marketing
Amount
The value of this grant will be distributed amongst the number of eligible applicants – this will not be known until these have been processed and approved by the Kaitiaki.

This grant is available on 1 March and closes 31 May of each year.
